Jus a 6min recording, but it took me a lot of effort to script and compile the recording bcos of tt *tupid software. We had a great time doing the recording … … controlling our laughter was the biggest challenge. Even the final product makes us laugh whenever we listen to it. Tis gonna put a smile on my face when I grow old & listen to it.
P/S I: the 野狼 sounds like 大色狼 … … hahahahaha.
P/S II: this recording was submitted to Eduplus to participate in the 4th “Telling Stories with Dad & Mum” competition.
Decided to proceed as planned to watch Arts Fest closing (Crackers? by UK’s The World Famous) at Yishun central, even though we got to carry GG for 45min or more. When we left the hse, it was vy cloudy and was raining.
Went to fetch mum & had a quick dinner at Yishun coffeeshop. While dining, I was keeping a close watch at the sky bcos I saw lightning when we were there. Luckily the weather was ok after our meal.
It started off with the ‘Pro’ letting off some fire crackers, some uncles laughed bcos the fire crackers were small fry compared to what we, Chinese, have during CNY. Then at the inner circle, a big cylinder of screen rose to the sky and some images were projected onto tt screen with bursts of fireworks occasionally.
Actual fire and fireworks were at the outer circle where we were standing. There were some dummies wrapped with crackers and when the crackers were ignited, many rings of smoke floated in the air. What an interesting sight! Then there were small flying rockets tt made GG laughed heartily (said Daddy who carried her thru’out the whole show), and fireworks tt looked like volcanoes spurting out golden lava, beautiful!!!
The fireworks continued to rain on us and delight us. We had never been so close to fireworks, we were like being part of it instead of just watching it from a great distance. Love it!
Raining Fireworks!!! This is only a small part of the performance, towards ending.
“Ballerina Girl” was ALY’s performance item for the 13th CSTD Summer School. Her dancing was still not good … … *sigh*.
Recently, her ballet tcher resigned, so i thought it might be a good chance to ask her to give it up … … but hor, she doesn’t want leh. Anyway, it was still a good chance to get her to change ballet sch to somewhere nearby .
ALY started her CSTD Summer School on Mon. For 5d, she has to attend dance lesson fr 2 – 5pm, leading to a performance on the 6th day at SCGS. Therefore, hv to find something for GG to do … …
Jio-ed Joan & her kids to Forum for a free art workshop today. The kids were each given a round wooden block and different shades of green to paint. GG drew a tortoise.
After completion, they were not allowed to bring their artworks home because the organiser wanna select some to create a wall mural to be displayed at Forum. So, if u happened to be at Forum next time, pls help me check if there is any tortiose up there as I rarely rarely go to that mall .
Our fmy was invited to attend the opening of “Children’s Voices” art exhibition at NIE’s Art Gallery as GG was one of the participants for one of the art projects.
Wow, we hd not stepped into NTU compound since our graduation and of course there were many new buildings and new roads. Before we headed home, we drove around the campus, went up Nanyang Hill and then to Hall2 … … missed those schooling days .

Opening of the art exhibition:
We were among the crowd … … at 00:19, take note of a bunch of balloons exiting fr the door … that was GG .
Today is Sat. After Ashley’s violin lesson, we went to Forum to catch a puppert show, “King Ethelbert and the Happy Scamp” by Bulgaria’s Waggish Radish Puppert Theatre. Thereafter, we took our lunch and rushed to the next destination, ACM.
Initially wanted to visit the Kangxi exhibition, but there was a super long queue. So we brought the girls to do some crafts in another room and also watched some Chinese dance & opera performance.
After that, we had ice-cream while taking a nice stroll to Suntec for the S’pore Book Fair. The only thing that got us interested was a Taiwanese booth selling toy quite like Lego but allowed more creativity in building things. We also subscribed Nat’l Geo & Young Scientist for the kids.
It was 815pm, and we got to catch an Arts Fest’s performance at Merlion Park at 9pm. Ta-bao LJS and we sat along the bridge linking Esplanade & the Merlion Park to watch the acrobat, “The Diamond” … … enjoying the view, the breeze and the dinner.
Every May, the sch wld request the kids to dress differently on the last day of sch. Last yr, it was crazy hat and this yr, they hv to wear something made fr recycled materials. When i rec’d the letter, i thot to myself, “OMG … how to make a dress fr recycled materials???!!!” and i didn’t give it much thots until a parent (her bus-mates) called and asked me. Still i didn’t hv a clue of what to make then.
Dunno why or how, while bathing, an idea struck me . Initially GG was helping me to make the dress, then she wanna watched TV and lost concentration. While i was painstakingly ’sewing’ the dress, she fell asleep and luckily Ashley came to my rescue. We spent about 3hrs to make the dress and were vy satisfied with the results.
